Great kids music

20 Aug

I’m kind of into the indie music scene and love finding new great music. Tonight while surfing blogs I found out about my new kiddo favorite, Frances England. Frances has a folk music sound with lyrics that relate to even the youngest kids. The music is catchy enough that adults don’t mind listening to it over and over again on repeat.

What I like best about her music is that the lyrics aren’t dumbed down for children in some sweet-singing melody that sounds like every other children’s song out there. Her lyrics recognize the complexity of a child’s world as they explore, create, and observe. With songs like “Sleepyhead Mommy,” “Tea Party,” “Digging in the Dirt,” and “Little Bright Star” how can you go wrong?

Go to itunes and check out her two albums – “Fascinating Creatures” and “Family Tree.”
