oooh….. a pretty giveaway for you AND a way you can help someone in need!

I told you yesterday that I had a fun giveaway in store for you and here it is! I met my sweet friend Melody a few years ago when our husbands were both in youth ministry together. She is one of those beautiful people who is just as pretty inside as she is outside. She’s a great wife, mother to her two precious little boys, awesome homemaker, and very crafty. You’ll also love her heartfelt posts on “Ramblings of a Lovesick Mommy.” Recently, her creative side has her making and selling beautiful mama bird’s nest pendants and rings in her Etsy store. They look darling tied on a piece of twine for a necklace or on your finger as a ring.

This giveaway is for a mama bird’s nest pendant or ring – your choice. You also get to choose how many eggs you want in your sweet bird’s nest. The necklace is made from beautiful freshwater pearls carefully wrapped in wire. So pretty!!

Onto a totally different subject:

Jessi over at Naptime Diaries has a plea and challenge offering to live out James 1:27 and to care for those without homes – orphans. As the church, as His children who’ve been adopted into His family, there is no getting around the fact that it’s our job to take care of them.

A good friend of Jessi’s is the Ladds, a family trying to adopt. The Ladds, have been in the process of adopting from Ethiopia for  two and a half years. During that time they have prayed, sacrificed, waited, prayed, cried, and waited some more for the Lord to move their adoption forward and now they get to go Sunday and bring their legally adopted son home from Ethiopia! Still they are in the home stretch of fundraising and only need approximately $3,500 more to pay all the expenses to adopt A.

So in order to be a blessing to them – a portion of all Naptime Diaries blog/shop profits are going to his adoption, but she has a special promotion going on right now for each person that buys this James 1:27 print. 100% of the profits from the sale of this print will go directly to the Ladds to pay their final expenses.
